I have been DYING to ask our friends to be our bridal party for EVER! Every time I'd pass a cute bridesmaidsy dress in a window I'd want to call one of m'ladies and ask her what she thought of the cut or the color. But Nick and I waited because we wanted to do something special. So...
...with a little help from our friends at Industries Stationery we began with simple postcards and envelopes. Then we poked holes through the card stock with an enormous needle. (Perhaps it was a knitting needle? I dunno!) Then, on a separate sheet of paper, placed over the postcard, we wrote heavily with a dull pencil. We removed the top paper and sketched over the imprint to make the text more visible. THEN we sewed spun cotton through the holes and through a little metal tag that said "SAY YES" on one side, and the date of the wedding on the other. Then we tied the cotton string in a little bow to look like my engagement ring!
THEN we asked everyone over for "dinner" and at each person's place was an envelope with their name on it. The cards asked, as seen above: "Will you be my Best Man?", "Will you be my Groomsmate?" etc. Everyone said they WOULD and we had a great dinner and a lovely time.
Part 1 of Team Wedding is ON!
