SATURDAY

This Saturday I woke up early.

The day was filled with inspiration from start to finish.

9AM-3PM "ish" I was at a photo shoot! Keep your eyes peeled for me in an upcoming Bloomingdales catalogue. And in stores!!! On set was a brick wall with windows that once looked out, but at some point were covered with another brick wall. It was very charming.

Then I went on the Brooklyn Heights Association's Landmark House & Garden Tour! My mother, who was volunteering, persuaded me to go. (But when it comes to me and brownstones there's not much persuading involved) Pics were not allowed, but on my way to and from one of the homes I saw this little path:

Then on my way home this adorable fancy flower shop (it's so fancy it's probably actually a flower shoppe!) had these in their window box! Did somebody say bouquet inspiration?!

Then I came home, brownstoned out of my mind, and went online. AND LOOK at this gorgeous thing I found on Oncewed.

Most likely we won't have a wedding cake. (I don't like cake that much and Nick REALLY doesn't like cake! So we might have wedding PIES!!!)

Lucky for us our friend Mary, other than being a Rockette, is also a fabulous pie maker. (If I invite my parents to any gatherings we are throwing the first thing my dad asks is "Is that 'pie lady' gonna be there?")

THEN...

I went to a party at this suspiciously handsome guy's insane apartment. The walls in one of the rooms were all fake bookshelves! And there was a Murphy bed behind one of the walls!!!!

THEN...

I went to an end of the opera season party at the Met. (which started at midnight!)

What a crazy day!

  1. I went to a wedding this fall that only had wedding pies, no cake, and it was the BEST. Pecan, Apple, and Pumpkin.

But you might want more Summer-y flavors. Except for pecan, obvs, because the pie lady makes the BEST pecan pie.

  2. How about at least ONE Derby Pie, in honor of you-know-what! Yummy!
