The "Bunk House"

Something about that little barn reminds me of camp. Not just bug juice and s'mores camp, but Lenny and George dreaming about the rabbits camp. Bunk beds and card games till dawn.

I suggested to Nick that we consider bunk beds built into one of the far walls. He was intrigued but had little reference, being an only child and never going to sleep away camp.

So I googled away and other than a few chic, contemporary bunks...


all I found were cheapo kids beds. Even when I googled "rustic bunk bed" I got these faux woodsy bunks. But THEN I came across a couple pictures I DID like. And as it turns out... I happen to be into bunk beds from concentration camps. Yeah. So I got sad a little bit and thought of genocide, but then I embraced my apparent fascination and googled away: "prison bunk beds"!

(This is like that David Sedaris story were he falls in love with Anne Frank's hiding house and wants to buy it.)

It's really important that the beds end up feeling like camp and not like a concentration camp. But what can I say? I can't help it folks, I like "Industrial Rustic".

Oooo prisons are so chic. Genocide is not at all.
